Glorious Blood
Science Museum 7th March 2006
Some of us went to a lecture at the Science Museum about our blood and how it works in our bodies. We found out that it consists of red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets.
We learnt that the red blood cells carry oxygen around our bodies. The white blood cells fight infection. The platelets make our blood clot and stop us from bleeding. These are what gives are scabs. Scabs stop us from bleeding, but also protect wounds so that further infections don't get into our bodies.
We learnt how our blood carries all the nutrients we need to different parts of our bodies to keep us fit and healthy.
