Britain at War Experience

23rd February 2006

We went to London to the Britain at War Experience and looked around the museum. We learnt what it would have been like to be in an air raid. One part of the museum shows a bomb site and it is quite scary looking at it and seeing all the damage that would have been done.

We tried out the Anderson shelter and the public air raid shelter.

We tried on lots of different uniforms that people would have worn during the war. We were all very shocked at how little everyone had to eat during the war compared to all the things we have today.

We watched a film about life in London during the War and saw how people used the Underground and places like that as emergency air raid shelters. We all decided that we were glad that we were not children during the war.
