Spend the day finding out how locks work, the effects of the tidal Thames, doing experiments and finding out about flood defences and the geography of the area + go on a short boat trip along the river!

Wolf Conservation Trust, Bershire
This is a charitable organization as is not open to the general public so is a unique opportunity to get very up close and personal with wolves. Unfortunately their insurance rules don’t allow any children under 6 yrs old to do anything other than listen to the introductory talk. This is followed by a 2 hour session of walking with and meeting wolves. This is an expensive trip and numbers are limited to 30 total.

"Strangeface" Mask Making workshops
(first of three consecutive weeks)
The first one is to make masks, Participants model their design in clay then use a vac-former to “pull” a mask in durable, high impact plastic. Week two will be taken up with decorating the masks and the third session is completed with a lesson in using the masks in practice. The younger children can have a go at pond dipping, have a mini beast hunt and look at life cycles. The older children can participate in these activities, but look at them from the point of view of environmental management or pollution, for example. To tailor the day to our needs the education officer will look at the ages and interests of the children/families coming and I will be able to post more information then.
